You’ve been waiting patiently as we processed the City of Raleigh’s cancellation of Race 13.1 Raleigh - Fall and worked to find you a solution of great value. Your patience is now being rewarded with some good news!
We’d like to introduce you to your two virtual race options, the Bull City Race Fest Virtual Race and the City of Oaks Marathon: Virtual Edition – consider them your virtual upgrade.
The Bull City Race Fest Virtual Race takes place from October 18 – 25 with swag that showcases the best of the Bull City and their medal doubles as a bottle opener. They’ll also have exclusive offers from the American Tobacco Campus and chances to win Durham Bulls tickets.
The City of Oaks Marathon: Virtual Edition will take place a little later from November 1 – 14 with an exclusive finisher hoodie and spinning finisher medal. Along with over $10,000 of savings on 375 plus locally owned and operated businesses from their partner Go Play Save Triangle.
The best part – your registration will be transferred to either virtual race for free! Also, you'll receive race credit for any amount you paid over $50 (virtual registration fee) that can be applied to a future Capstone Race.
Not interested in running a virtual race? We got you covered there too. You'll also have the choice to defer your registration for race credit to a future Capstone Race instead of running virtual. Running in one of the virtual races is not required, but highly recommended.
Fill out the form below once you've made your decision and we'll make sure your registration gets taken care of. The deadline to transfer your registration is Friday, August 7 at noon.
Update via email July 10, 2020
On July 7, 2020 the Raleigh City Council announced the cancellation of large-scale events through October 31. This cancellation included our beloved Race 13.1 Raleigh-Fall scheduled for October 3, 2020. Being cancelled hurts, and even though we'll miss you, this is the right decision. The safety of our participants, spectators, volunteers, and the greater Raleigh community is our number one priority.
But you can’t get rid of us that easily. We’re exploring every option imaginable to determine the best next steps for all of our participants. We’ll reach out with another email soon to provide further information about the status of the event and your registration.
For now, try not to think about us too much and focus on staying healthy.
