The below FAQs should be helpful in answering many of your questions! If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Will participants receive any merchandise?
Each participant will receive a race tech t-shirt. We will offer both men’s and women’s size shirts, and shirt designs can be found on each race page. All runners will also receive access to numerous Event Deals for each race. A link to view and claim Event Deals will be emailed prior to the race and can be found on each race page. Runners who choose to register at packet pick-up on race day cannot be guaranteed a race t-shirt. They will be available to race day registrants on a first come, first serve basis while quantities last.

Will there be medals for participants?
All half marathon finishers will receive a medal! Check each race page to see a picture of that race’s medal.

Will there be professional photographers and photos for purchase? 
Yes, professional photographers will be on site for the race and will provide photos for purchase. You will be emailed a link to view and purchase the photos within a week of the race.

Do the races have USATF certified courses?
Yes, all of our courses are USATF certified. We will post the certification numbers closer to race day on each race page.

Is there a time limit?
Yes, all race distances must be completed within 3.5 hours of the half marathon start time.

Is there prize money or awards?
There will be male and female overall and age group awards for each race. Awards are based on chip time for all races. Runners must be present to receive their prize; awards will not be mailed.

Age groups are as follows: 19 & under; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-up. Please refer to each race page to see race-specific prize details!

I can’t stay for the awards ceremony. Can you mail me my award?
We are unable to mail medals or prizes after the race. If you are unable to stay for the awards ceremony, please stop by the Race 13.1 tent in Runners Village to pick up your prize early.

Elite Athletes

An elite athlete may receive one comp entry if he or she meets the standards listed below:

  • Time standards: 1:14:00 for males and 1:28:00 for females.

  • Time standards must be met in the 12 months preceding the race date.

  • Runners must have proof of their time. Email info@race131.com for details.
  • Race 13.1 reserves the right to adjust time standards at any time.
  • All elite athlete requests must be submitted at least 10 days prior to race day to info@race131.com.

When is packet pick-up?
Packet pick-up times will be listed on each race page closer to the race date. Typically packet pick-up will be held one or two days prior to Race Day as well as the morning of the race. We strongly suggest picking up your packet prior to Race Day! Please see the Race Details on each race page for specific packet pick-up information.

Can I pick up someone else’s packet?
Yes, you may if you have a picture of their photo ID. A picture on your phone also works well.

I can’t attend the race. Can you mail me my race shirt and/or bib?
We are unable to mail race shirts or bibs. If you’re unable to attend packet pick-up or the race, you may have someone else pick it up for you, but we cannot mail shirts or bibs.

Can I register on race day?
Yes, you will be able to register on race day and at packet pick-up, as well as online up until one hour prior to the race – though you must pick up your bib in time to race!

How do I become a volunteer?
We need volunteers to make all of our events successful! To sign up to volunteer, please visit the race page for the race you wish to volunteer for and select the “Volunteer” tab in the menu. Click here to view information on our Volunteer Compensation Policy.

Will there be live tracking for my athlete?
No, we will not offer live tracking. Live results will be posted on our website throughout the race.

Where can I find the results?
Results will be posted in real time on our website! Please visit Race131.com/results for all results links. We will also send you a text message during the race with a link to view the results after you finish.

Can I get a refund?
Refunds will not be issued for any reason. You may change your race distance at any point, and you may also transfer to another race up until 72 hours prior to Race Day. Please note: If you do not change your race distance either online or in person with a Race 13.1 staff member prior to the race start, you will be disqualified from the event.

In addition, discount codes can not be applied retroactively to registrations for a refund of the discount amount.

Weather/Cancellation Policy
We will do all we can to make sure each of our races is produced as planned, but runner safety is always our top priority. If we have to cancel a race because of weather or circumstances outside our control, refunds will not be issued.

  • Severe Weather Policy: If severe weather is expected (hurricanes, tornados, lightning storms), Race 13.1 will work with the City to determine whether or not to cancel the event.  If, on the morning of the race, severe weather is predicted to begin during the race window that compromises the safety of the runners, the race will be cancelled.  Once an event has started, it will not be stopped unless extreme weather conditions arise that place runners, volunteers and spectators in danger.  In the event that this occurs, steps will be taken to notify runners and volunteers on the course.

Can someone else run in my place?
No, you are not allowed to transfer bib numbers.

What food and drinks will be on the course?
All of our courses will feature plenty of aid stations throughout the course, and water and sports drink will be served at the aid stations. We will also have water and food available in Runners Village after the race.

Will there be bathrooms on the course?
There will be at least one port-a-john at each aid station on the course.

Can I wear headphones?
It is unsafe to wear headphones while running. Event organizers will not restrict headphone use and leave it up to the athlete on his/her ability to follow direction while wearing headphone devices. If you do choose to wear headphones please keep the volume level down so you are able to hear and follow the direction of course volunteers. We have unique courses where you must listen to volunteers.

Are walkers allowed in the race?
Walkers are welcome at all races, however, you must meet the requirements of the completing the race in 3.5 hours or less (any distance).

Are baby joggers, strollers or pets allowed during the race?
No. This is to ensure runner safety and comply with liability insurance policies.
