Raleigh, NC – June 7, 2014Race 13.1 Midtown Raleigh entering its third year, having formerly been known as the Midtown Race Series. The race has drastically grown in participation each year since its inception, it is highly likely this event will sell out, so don’t wait to register! Raleigh has received numerous accolades in the recent years, including being named “America’s Best City” by Bussinessweek.com and being named one of “America’s Coolest Towns” by GQ. Take in a Carolina Hurricanes game, visit the Art Museum, or enjoy every amenity you could dream of at North Hills, located in the heart of Midtown Raleigh. The race will start and finish at in the heart of Midtown Raleigh at North Hills. North Hills is home to hotels, premier dining establishments, high-end boutiques, department stores, cafes, spas, and bars. Every amenity you could dream of is no more than a few blocks from the start and finish line. The race will proceed through one of the city’s most beautiful neighborhoods and onto the greenway along beautiful Crabtree Creek.

What time does the race start and where is the start?
The race is on Saturday June 7th, 2014. The official start time for the Half Marathon will be 7:00am. The 5k and 10k will start at 7:15am.
How many participants are allowed in each event?

Will Participants receive any merchandise?
YES! Each racer will receive race Tech T Shirt. We will offer both Men’s and Women’s size shirts!
If you choose to register at packet pickup on Race Day we cannot guarantee a race t-shirt, they will be available to race day registrants on a first come first serve basis while quantities last.
Will there be a medal for the Half Marathon?
Yes! Half Marathon finishers will receive a MEDAL! We will post a picture closer to the race date!
Will there be professional photographers and photos for purchase?
Yes! Professional photographers will be on site for the race and will provide photos for purchase.

Is there a time limit?
Yes, 3.5 hours for each distance.
Is there prize money or awards?
Yes, gift cards from our some of our Sponsors! Age Group Awards will be given to both Male and Female runners for each of the following age groups:1-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-up (*overall placers are not eligible for age group awards)

How do I become a Volunteer?
We need Volunteers to make this event happen! All Volunteers will be given a t-shirt! Please click the volunteer tab above if you would like to help!
When is packet pick-up?
Packet pick-up will be at Omega Sports at North Hills on Thursday and Friday (June 5 & 6). We will also offer packet pickup at the race site on race day, Saturday June 7, for a limited amount of time. We strongly urge you to pick up your packet on Thursday or Friday. We will announce packet pickup times closer to the race!
Can I pick-up someone else’s packet?
If you have a picture of their photo ID, yes you can. A picture on your phone works well!
What timing system will be used?
The Ultra timing system from RFID Timing Systems will be provided by FS Series.
Will there be Live Tracking for my athlete?
No, we will not offer live timing.
Where can I find the results?
Results will be posted on our website within 24 hours of race completion.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds will not be issued for any reason. Event entries are not transferable from person to person OR year to year.
What food and drinks will be on the course?
The course will have a minimum of 4 aid stations that will be passed 1-2 times each, depending on distance. About every 1.5 to 2 miles. Water and Gatorade will be served at the aid stations.
Will there be bathrooms on the course?
We will have TWO Rent-A-Jon at each aid station on the course.
Can I wear headphones?
It is unsafe to wear headphones while running. Event organizers will not restrict headphone use and leave it up to the athlete on his/ her ability to follow direction while wearing headphone devices. If you do choose to wear headphones please keep the volume level down so you are able to hear and follow the direction of course volunteers. We have a unique course where you MUST listen to volunteers, if you cannot hear a volunteer you have no excuses if you get led off course.
Can someone else run in my place?
No, you are not allowed to transfer bib numbers.
Can I register on race day?
Yes, you will be able to register on race day AND at packet pickup, though we strongly encourage you to register online in advance.
Are walkers allowed in the race?
YES! However, you must meet the requirements of the completing the race in 3.5 hours or less (any distance).
Are baby joggers, strollers or pets allowed during the race?
No. This is to ensure runner safety and comply with liability insurance policies.
If you are registering on race day you will be required to sign and complete the below waiver. If you register online, which is highly encouraged, you will automatically sign the waiver.

I should not enter and run unless I am physically fit, medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I hereby certify I am in good health, and I have trained to run the distance of the race that I am entering. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry into this running event, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Midtown Multisport, LLC, Kane Realty Corporation, Midtown Events, LLC, FS Series, their offices, directors, agents, volunteers and employees, The City of Raleigh, Mayor and City Council, Department of Public Works, all sponsors, their representatives and successors, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings, videos or any other recording of this event for legitimate purpose.
